CARMA

Cultural Center Branding

CARMA, or Centro de Artistas Residentes Málaga (center for resident artists in Málaga), is a fantasy cultural center in the heart of the city that draws in painters, musicians and all sorts of artists and art lovers from around Spain and the world. The center occupies a stunning eight flight building and required a flexible visual system that could accommodate it.

I created a typographic logo using the super-readable but charismatic Clash Grotesk, with the small twist in the ‘a’ that stands for Artists. The tagline ‘donde reside la creatividad’ or ‘where creativity resides’ will accompany the logo on occasion.

With the use of recycled, soft touch papers, embossed details and a fun color palette filled with pinks, blues and the occasional yellows, I designed a simple system for the stationery which allows for a lot of flexibility.

POSTERS

The poster designs for CARMA speak the youthful, dynamic language of the target audience, using a curated creative direction for the photography and structure. Here are a few examples.

MERCH

CARMA’S signage is inclusive, simple, bilingual and follows the shapes, colors and messaging of the brand’s visual system. Above, see examples of one of the entrances, ideas of wall printed and mounted signs, as well as general hallway directions.
